Artist Statement
I began this recent series of monotypes when I became aware of feeling the moments of transition from conceptual thinking toward embodied feeling. Continually noticing this felt shift of awareness attuned and expanded my attention while I drew and made these prints. Some parts of this process requires quick responses in order to reflect complexity in the energy of the moment, and others call on slowing way down to absorb what I’m seeing, in order to feel. As I worked on these prints I felt and recorded many instances of meeting an edge, relaxing boundaries or holding tight, also taking time to sense the movement of seeing something be alive and change.
